Hold tight Hi there!

What happens next

A short path from what you typed to a real resource.

1

Crisis first

If your words sound like an emergency, help lines jump the queue before any resource list. No lecture.

Distress first

988 Call or text · first
Then resources2+

Help lines first, then resources.

2

Stays on your device

Search runs where you are. Asking for help does not become marketing data on a server somewhere else.

Sometimes one question

When the ask is wide, Canopy asks one short clarifier. Or you can skip straight to what it already found.

What kind of stress is heaviest right now?

Money / food Sleep / overwhelm

When the match is weak

If the match is weak, Canopy says so, and still offers a next step with what to expect.

We’re not sure this is the best match. Here is a next step anyway, with what to expect.

Works offline, and by text

Works without a connection

Once loaded, search still runs when the network drops.

Airplane mode

Airplane mode. Still here.

Catalog stays on your device.

Works by text on any phone

No app store or laptop required. A number that answers when a browser is not an option.

SMS

hey
Hey, I'm Canopy. Just text what's going on, messy is fine. I'll ask one short question if I need to, then send a couple of places that can help. Try: “anxious about exams”

The awkward questions

  • On the web: no. Search runs on your device. The question is not sent to Canopy to be answered, so there is no query log for your school to request. Close the tab and the trail ends with it.

  • No. Canopy matches you to resources people already wrote and checked. It does not invent advice, hours, or a clinic that does not exist. If the match is weak, it says so.

  • If your words sound like an emergency, help lines (including 988) surface first, before a resource list. If the catalog match is weak, Canopy tells you instead of bluffing.

  • No account to search, and free for students. Help at 2 a.m. should not need a credit card.

  • Pilot access is gated per community for now. Requesting access is how your school gets in the queue. It is not a waitlist for a product that already exists everywhere.
